911 on OBi

if you set up an obi you will not have 911 services unless you preform the following

inital cost: a minimum $10 as an account deposit
monthly cost: $0.80 (taken from your deposit)


the instructions will be split up in 5 steps
  1. register for an anveo account
  2. fund you anveo account
  3. setup e911 services
  4. link your anveo account to SP2 on your obi
  5. verify 911 services are working

part 1: registering for an anveo account
  1. go to https://www.anveo.com/account.asp and register for an account
    1. please add 2111543 in the referral code field
  2. once registered confirm your account using in your email
part 2: Fund your anveo account
  1. first start by logging in
  2. on your main account page in the second section named "account summary" click "Add Funds"
    1. anveo accepts PayPal payments.
  3. you will need to select the initial deposit
    1. at the time of writting you will get 1 year (and some change) for every $10 you deposit
  4. using PayPal make the payment
    1. this is NOT a recurring payment/subscription
    2. every month anveo will withdraw $0.80 from your anveo balance.
part 3: to set up e911 services
  1. now that you are funded you can add an address yo your anveo account
  2. at your anveo dashboard click the link that says "Click here to configure E911" (this link should work as well)
  3. on this page ensure "emergency dial 1" has the correct emergency code (the US should be "911")
  4. now further down click "add a new E911 address)
    1. if you get a error saying your balance is to low, and you did make a deposit" you may need to wait a few days before you continue. because your payment may have been flagged for review.
  5.  if you get the form fill it out and hit save
  6. DO NOT ADD more than one address as they will both incur a $0.80 fee. this should be the address where the obi will be located.
Part 4: link your 911 services to your anveo
  1. next go to you obi configuration page and select SP2
  2. about halfway down the page you will see a rectangle with a few different providers click on the orange one called anveo
  3. once again scroll to about halfway down and click the blue button that says "to restore an existing anveo account click here"
  4. log in to your anveo account using the credentials you set up in part 1 
  5. when it asks you if you want to re-provision your obi device click yes
  6. now wait for it to finish, when it does click "return to obitalk"
  7. wait a few minutes before continuing
part 5:confirm 911 services are working
DON'T CALL 911 to test it is illegal, you may get fined/ticketed and or arrested
  1. first go and get your phone 
  2. next dial 933 (don't dial 911
  3. if there is a not configured or could not complete your call message you will need to verify that it is set up properly
  4. if you get to a message saying "911 verification and audio test system..." follow the prompts. to complete the test, including the voice check.
  5. if something is wrong you will need to search the internet or contact anveo for a solution.
